Hmmmm...I'm trying to figure out whether this is correct or not. Sound off, people!
Anyway, my fingers are all tingly and my head hurts. The reason? Well, lately, I've been eating less (not like Q during my junior year), but less. This wasn't a problem thus far, but last night, I fell asleep with the heater on, because it was a very cold night. Except that later that night it rained and warmed up. So what had been a freezing room became swelteringly hot, which woke me up and prevented me from falling asleep for the rest of the night, even after I turned the heater off. So the three hours of sleep, in the face of not eating much, have a lot to do with my deteriorated mental and physical state this morning. This sucks incredibly. I swear, I'm switching my diet to high-calorie, high-protein, high-lipid, low-volume and low-carb. This pretty much means various kinds of miso soup, a bowl of rice, and a little meat of some kind. Probably fish. Any suggestions anyone?

on 2003-10-21 04:50 pm (UTC)Here's what you do:
on 2003-10-21 04:59 pm (UTC)Snack: protein + fruit
Lunch: carbs + protein + vegetables
Snack: protein + fruit (or just fruit)
Dinner: protein + vegetables
See, it's much better to eat more frequent, smaller meals throughout the day. It keeps your energy up and helps get your metabolism going. When you eat only three meals a day, your body goes into "starvation" mode and doesn't burn fat as quickly, storing the carbs away into fat cause it thinks you need them.
So--the key is to eat three smaller meals plus two snacks, throughout the day, watching portion size!
